Linklaters Advises Attentive Energy on Securing 1.3GW New Jersey Offshore Wind Offtake Award

Linklaters’ U.S. Energy and Infrastructure team advised Attentive Energy on securing a 1,342MW offtake award from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for the Attentive Energy Two project.  Attentive Energy Two, a joint venture between TotalEnergies and Corio Generation, will be developing an offshore wind project off the coast of New Jersey that, based on the award, is expected to power more than 650,000 homes annually, generate billions of dollars in economic activity statewide, deliver more than 15,000 job-years for New Jersey residents, and support the State’s emission reduction efforts by removing 1.3 million tons of carbon annually.

The Linklaters team that advised Attentive on preparing and submitting the proposal to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities was led by Senior Counsel Lauren Bachtel and included Partner Andrew Compton, Senior Counsel Diana Jeschke, Senior Associate April Kent, and Associates In Sun You, Zach Benaharon, and Chee Lee.

Linklaters’ Americas Energy & Infrastructure team remains at the forefront of the market advising on the development and financing of complex, large-scale projects and mergers and acquisitions in the energy and infrastructure sector, particularly in connection with renewable and carbon transition projects.

Linklaters is ranked Band 1 for Projects & Energy and was recently recognized with IJInvestor’s Americas Conventional Power & Grid Infrastructure Deal of the Year Award and PFI’s Americas Hydrogen Deal of the Year Award.
