Aymeric Voisin

Aymeric is an energy and infrastructure specialist with over 15 years expertise advising on complex development, financing, sale and purchase of assets across the energy, infrastructure and mining sectors.

Co-leader of our Mining sector, Aymeric has particular expertise in advising on critical minerals projects, associated infrastructure and decarbonisation transactions across Africa, Europe and Asia and is also involved in the battery value-chain.

His experience also includes complex energy transition projects such as hydrogen export projects and large scale infrastructure PPPs. 

Aymeric has a wide international experience having been seconded to the Linklaters Hong Kong office and JBIC in Tokyo, and he also lived and worked in Algeria. He is ranked in Jeune Afrique’s 100 Legal Powerlist.

Work highlights

Aymeric has led or been a key adviser on several innovative, first-in-market and large-scale transactions. These include advising on:

• Landmark mining projects including Rio Tinto on the US15bn Simandou iron ore and infrastructure project in Guinea; ArcelorMittal on its Liberia iron ore and associated infrastructure project; Fortescue on the Belinga iron ore mine in Gabon; MMG Limited on its DRC copper and cobalt projects; the sponsors of the Franceville manganese mine in Gabon; and on an ongoing lithium project;
• EV and Battery infrastructure projects including the first-in-market EV Charging network to be project financed for Allego-Meridiam and on several EV related projects in Europe;
• Hydrogen export projects including CWP’s H2 Mauritania project; an ammonia export scheme in Djibouti and Ethiopia; and an ongoing JV in North Africa;
• Several rail and road PPP projects in France including the EUR4bn Tours-Bordeaux and EUR 1.7bn Nimes-Montpellier high speed railways as well as Port PPPs in Africa;
• Numerous conventional and renewables power projects in the Middle East (Facility-D in Qatar, Suez Wind in Egypt) and Africa (Taza Wind Farm in Morocco, Azito in Ivory Coast).
