Overview

Gitanjali is a Managing Associate in the Global Energy & Infrastructure Group and in her ten years at the firm, has practised in the London, Singapore and New York offices. She has experience working with various sponsors, lenders, export credit agencies and funds on the Global E&I Group’s market-leading energy and infrastructure projects.

In the UK, she advises private sector and public sector clients on complex and large transactions with a particular skillset for managing complex processes with multiple stakeholders involving multi-faceted regulatory and contractual structures. She has extensive financing experience acting in both sponsor and lender roles and is taking an increasingly active role in the group’s energy transition focused practice. 

During her time in the US, she advised on a variety of renewable energy and other transactions for US and European sponsors and financial institutions investing in projects in the US as well as Latin America. 

Work highlights

Gitanjali’s experience on energy projects includes advising:

  • Ørsted in respect of its partial divestment to, and joint venture with Eversource, a US utility, in respect for the development, construction and operation of offshore windfarms on the east coast of the US.
  • Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board in relation to its partnership with Macquarie’s Corio Generation for the development of a global portfolio of offshore wind assets
  • BEIS on the potential for developing a RAB model for the Sizewell C nuclear project
  • The bank group on the project financings of various energy from waste facilities including Skelton Grange, Kelvin and Newhurst
  • Sponsors on the FAB Link interconnector between France, Alderney and Britain and the Viking between UK and Denmark
  • Thames Water as on the £4.2bn procurement of the infrastructure provider for the Thames Tideway project and the complex contractual matrix for the project, working alongside Defra and Ofwat
