Rémy joined Linklaters’ Corporate/M&A practice group in 2007 and was appointed as partner in May 2018. He heads Linklaters’ Mainstream Corporate practice in Luxembourg.

Rémy has worked in both our Brussels and London offices, gaining invaluable experience for his Corporate M&A practice. Since his arrival over 15 years ago, Rémy has built up strong relationships with key clients and has become the trusted advisor of major private equity firms and sovereign wealth funds. 

A member of the Bar in New York and Luxembourg, Rémy has extensive experience in group restructurings, joint ventures and private equity transactions. With particular expertise in international IPOs, SPACs, share offerings and takeover bids he is recognised as a leading expert in Luxembourg for Equity Capital Markets deals.

Rémy is a member of the Executive Board of the China-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and a member of the editorial board of the Luxembourg Business Law Review (Revue pratique de droit des affaires).

Work highlights

Recently, Rémy has acted for and advised, among others: 

  • Joh.  Berenberg: advising on the private placement of 30,000,000 units consisting each of one share and one-third of a warrant, at a price of €10.00 per unit for an aggregate of €300m in 468 SPAC I SE, a Luxembourg special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).
  • Lakestar SPAC I SE: advising the joint bookrunners on the first tech-focused SPAC IPO in Europe with proceeds of €275m. 
  • Advent International Corporation, Centerbridge Partners, L.P. and other financial investors: advising on the setting up of a joint venture carrying out a successful voluntary public takeover offer to acquire approx. 90% of the share capital and voting rights of Aareal Bank AG and subsequent delisting.
  • A global investment organization: advising on the acquisition of a biotech group developing immunoassays for life science research.
  • GIC Real Estate Pte. Ltd.: advising Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, on its acquisition of an approximately 95% stake in the Sani/Ikos hotels group, an innovative and rapidly growing group of luxury resorts in unique beachfront locations in the Mediterranean.
  • DigitalBridge and Vantage Data Centers: advising on a US$9.2bn equity investment in Vantage Data Centers, led by investment vehicles managed by DigitalBridge Group, Inc. and Silver Lake, global leaders in technology investing.
