Toby Irenshtain

Toby is an associate in Linklaters’ TMT/IP and Data Solutions practice in New York, where she advises clients on matters concerning emerging technologies, data and intellectual property. Toby’s practice focuses on advising multinational companies on compliance strategies, cybersecurity programs, intellectual property transactions, and effective AI governance.

She counsels clients through strategic corporate transactions, particularly on the data, technology, and intellectual property assets of companies across industries involved in mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. She supports pre and post transaction due diligence from both the TMT and IP angles.

Toby regularly guides organizations through conducting risk assessments, responding to data security incidents, and navigating the myriad legal and regulatory challenges accompanying the deployment of AI and machine learning technologies.

She helps clients identify, evaluate, and mitigate data-related business, legal, and regulatory risks. As a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Toby is passionate about building actionable legal solutions for effective data management, comprehensive AI governance, and careful regulatory compliance. She offers a practical, solutions-oriented approach, and provides clear, actionable guidance on how to best anticipate, understand, address, and manage the unique risks and opportunities that new technologies present. .
