Linklaters advises Equitix and Baltic Cable on the acquisition of Greenlink

Linklaters has advised Equitix and Baltic Cable AB on the signing of an agreement with Partners Group, to acquire Greenlink, a 504 MW electricity interconnector between Great Britain and Ireland.

Greenlink is a highly strategic infrastructure asset that is the first project financed interconnector to be completed in Europe.

Greenlink delivers a significant expansion in interconnection capacity between both markets, increasing their security of supply, promoting energy efficiency and facilitating economic competitiveness whilst supporting decarbonisation and further integrating energy markets. Interconnectors are critical to power markets across Europe and are a key enabler for the energy transition.

The cross-practice team was led by Michael Honan, Richard Ginks, Alistair Fraser and Nick Szmigin. They were supported by Antitrust & Foreign Investment Partner Jonny Ford and Associates Krish Nadarajah, Arushi Nayar, Trisha Dasgupta, Ed Jackson and Erasmia Petousi.
