  • Data centres: IFM on its acquisition of Green data centre platform in Swizerland, BlackRock on its investment in Mainova WebHouse data centre platform in Germany
  • Fibre: advising CPPIB on its acquisition alongside a KKR-led consortium of Telecom Italia’s Netco.
  • Electricity transmission and distribution: Ontario Teachers Pension on its acquisition of a significant stake in SSE Transmission in the UK; Equitix and Baltic Cable on the acquisition of the Greenlink UK to Ireland interconnector; Ontario Teachers Pension on its acquisition of Evoltz, the Brazilian electricity transmission business; Equitix on the acquisition of Aurora Infrastructure, the electricity distribution network in Finland
  • Water: CK Infrastructure on the sale of a significant interest in Northumbrian Water to KKR

  • Offshore wind: Ontario Teachers Pension Plan on the establishment of Corio, its global offshore wind development platform with Macquarie; Orsted on its sale of a 50% stake in Hornsea 2 offshore wind project to Axa and Credit Agricole, Apollo on its acquisition of a 50% stake in Hornsea 3 offshore wind project from Orsted; Equitix: advising on the acquisition of a 50 per cent. interest in a portfolio of eight offshore wind farms from Macquarie Asset Management
  • Solar and onshore renewables: the New South Wales Treasury Corporation (TCorp) on its strategic partnership with Equitix to grow its renewable energy hybridisation platform in Spain; BlackRock Real Assets on the sale of a portfolio of European wind farms and solar projects, BlackRock on the acquisition of a significant interest in Enviria, a German commercial and industrial solar business
  • Gas pipelines and gas distribution: BlackRock on its acquisition of a significant interest in gas pipeline project Medgaz, OMERS Infrastructure and Allianz Capital Partners on the acquisition of NET4GAS, the Czech gas distribution network
  • Infra services: BlackRock on the acquisition of Lanes Group (water waste management services) Michael also has experience advising clients across the Consumer sector, including consumer brand businesses, supermarkets, retailers, ecommerce, luxury goods and alcoholic beverages. This includes advising Nestlé on a wide range of M&A transactions globally.

Outside of Linklaters, Michael is a trustee of Magic Breakfast, the national charity providing nutritious breakfasts and support to school pupils at risk of hunger.
