Overview
Daniel is a senior partner in our Energy and Infrastructure Group in London and is the former global head of Linklaters' Energy and Infrastructure group. He is widely recognised as a leading projects practitioner with over 30 years’ continuous experience specialising in upstream oil and gas, LNG, pipeline, refinery/petrochemical plant related project development, project finance and private equity transactions across EMEA and the CIS. More recently Daniel has been advising on major projects arising from the energy transition.
Daniel is ranked Tier 1 for International Projects in Chambers and ranked in the Hall of Fame for Oil and Gas in Legal 500.

- ENI and the Area 4 partners on all aspects of the development and financing of the Coral North Floating project financing in Mozambique
- Ronesans and Sonatrach as sponsors and the borrower on all aspects of the development and ECA/DFI backed project financing of a $1.5bn PDHPP plan in Turkiye
- the lender group ECAs, Chinese and Russian financial institutions on the multi-sourced project financing of the Arctic 2 LNG project in Russia
- ENI and the Area 4 partners on all aspects of the development and financing of the Coral South LNG project financing in Mozambique
- the ECAs, DFIs and the common lender group on the €20bn Yamal LNG project financing in Northern Russia
- the ECAs and commercial banks on the proposed project financing of the SOCAR GPC petrochemical project in Azerbaijan
- IFC, EIB and other Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) on the project financing of the Khi Solar CSP project in South Africa
- the ECAs and commercial banks on the proposed project financing of the IPCI 2 petrochemical project in Kazakhstan
- the common lenders group on the project financing of an expansion to the CPC oil pipeline between Russia and Kazakhstan
- the existing DFIs and commercial banks on refinancing and the inclusion of a hedging programme for the Rujagali hydro project financing in Uganda
- the borrower on the $1.5bn ECA-backed financing of the Tupras refinery upgrade
- the ECAs and the commercial lenders on the US$1.2bn financing of the Sohar oil refinery in the Sultanate of Oman
- Gazprom and Gazpromexport (as shipper) on the development and project financing (backed by commercial lenders and ECAs) of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline from Russia to Germany and on the proposed Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project
