Marc is widely recognised as one of the leading banking lawyers in Germany, advising domestic and international banks and corporates on cross-border syndicated lending, leveraged finance and restructurings. He has particular understanding of public acquisition financing.
Marc spent a year in the firm’s London office in 2001, forging close relationships with London-based international investment banks.
He is listed in the "Hall of Fame" by Legal 500 Germany, 2025.

Marc has advised on a wide range of major finance deals. Highlights include advising:
- Continental: advising on a €2.5bn syndicated credit facility for AUMOVIO in connection with the spin-off of the automotive segment as AUMOVIO group.
- Mandated Lead Arranger: advising on bridge financing in connection with the acquisition of SpringWork Therapeutics by Merck KGaA.
- HomeToGo: advising on the purchase of Interhome (a business unit of Hotelplan Group) from Migros and the acquisition financing of the transaction.
- Commerzbank : advising on a revolving credit facility about €5bn with several sustainability components for the energy company RWE, which was provided by Bank of America, Commerzbank, Société Générale and UniCredit as Underwriter.
- ING Bank: advising the financing banks led by ING (also as documentation agent), BNP and Standard Chartered in connection with the group financing for PUMA.
- KfW IPEX-Bank: advising on financing for the construction of Europe's largest hinterland terminal "Duisburg Gateway Terminal" (DGT), which is considered a model project for the future of logistics and is to be operated in a climate-neutral manner.
- Continental: on its revolving credit facility of €4bn with several sustainability features (eg for renewable energy sources)
- Montagu Private Equity: on the financing of the acquisition of Universal-Investment GmbH.
