Víctor is a partner and the head of the corporate practice in Madrid. He has broad experience in public and private M&A transactions across multiple sectors.
Chambers considers Víctor a leading individual in private equity and Corporate/M&A, describing him as "very good technically, creative and commercial" with “great vision; he's excellent at anticipating potential issues”. Clients also remark that he “is super hands-on. He’s very good at going into the detail” and that “he's good negotiator. He's good at knowing what is important and what isn't and putting that into negotiations”.
Beyond the office
Victor’s prior experience includes advising:
- Tensile Capital Management and Portobello: on the acquisition of petrol station operator Plenoil.
- Portobello on several of their investments and divestments in Spain such as the acquisitions of a stake in Eurocebollas, the acquisition of a minority stake in Serveo from Ferrovial and the services subsidiary of SACYR, or the sale of Evolutio to Lyntia Networks.
- FCC on the acquisition of Urbaser’s waste collection, treatment and disposal business in the United Kingdom.
- Banco Sabadell on the sale of an 80% stake in its payments subsidiary to Nexi Group and on a strategic agreement for merchant acquiring services.
- SIX Group on the public takeover bid made for Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) (awarded “Deal of the Year” in Spain by Expansión in 2020).
Education and Qualifications
Víctor completed his BA in Business Administration (1994 - 2000) and his LL.B (1994 - 1999) at Universidad Pontificia de Comillas – ICADE, Spain.
Victor is fluent in English and Spanish.
