Ashick is an Associate in the Finance Division of the Lisbon office, working in the Finance practice and the Energy & Infrastructure practice. From the outset his practice has focused on Finance Law and he specialises in project finance and real estate finance deals, advising domestic and international clients, representing both lenders and sponsors across a diverse range of sectors, including energy and infrastructure, financial services, and real estate. His experience extends to acquisition and structured finance, asset finance, and debt issuance transactions. Ashick advises clients throughout the entire lifecycle of financing transactions – from initial structuring, negotiation, and documentation to closing and ongoing compliance.
In addition to his domestic expertise, Ashick has experience in cross-border transactions, particularly within Lusophone countries and the broader international market.
Deals and projects that Ashick was involved in include the financing of logistic infrastructures (railway corridor), the financing for the acquisition, development and operation of greenfield and brownfields solar pv plants, the acquisition finance for the development of a 5* hotel, the project development and financing of renewable energy project, and the financing for the construction and development of data centres.
His expertise furthermore encompasses project development, financial regulation, and Islamic finance (Shari’a-compliant transactions).
Beyond his client work, Ashick is a Guest Lecturer at the Portuguese Banking Training Institute (IFB).
Ashick joined the Lisbon office of Linklaters in 2025 as Associate in its Finance Division, working in the Finance practice and the Energy & Infrastructure practice. He started his legal career in 2019 as Trainee Lawyer at the local law firm Telles, working in the Finance, Projects & Capital Markets department, where he became an Associate in 2022. He then joined local law firm Abreu in its Projects and Structured Finance department in 2022, and local law firm Morais Leitão in 2023, in its Banking and Finance department.
Between 2017 and 2021, while studying law, Ashick also incorporated and managed an import-export company.
Ashick furthermore is Guest Lecturer at the Portuguese Banking Training Institute (IFB), where he delivers training and courses to financial institutions, mainly on Private-Public Partnerships and the Digital Operations Resilience Act (DORA).
Ashick holds a Bachelor´s Degree in Law (LLB) of the Lisbon School of Law of the Católica University (2019) and attended the Bachelor´s Degree in Management (BBA) at the Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics (2012-2014). He furthermore completed a Postgraduation Course on Corporate Finance at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (2019).
He is a fully qualified Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2022.
Ashick speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish and Arabic.
