Overview
Breda is a managing associate in our investment funds team and has experience in private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and debt funds work, assisting with both transactional and advisory matters for a broad range of clients. In particular, she has recently worked on several infrastructure debt and direct lending mandates, including assisting Macquarie Asset Management launch its direct lending platform during a six-month secondment in their private credit legal team focused on fund formation.
Breda has experience in our full-service private wealth practice and has advised clients in relation to the structuring and launch of access and conduit funds and semi-liquid open-ended products with smaller ticket sizes and regular redemptions.
Breda also has experience advising large sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and corporates on their cross-asset class and co-investment activities.
Breda is a Founding Member of the London Investment Funds DEI Champion Committee, which promotes the firm’s diversity and inclusion strategy/initiatives. She also founded the Global Investment Funds Women’s Networking & Mentoring Programme in 2024 – an international programme designed to foster stronger cross-border connections for women in the Investment Funds group, as well as to provide training and support in career strategy and success.
Work Highlights
Breda's experience includes advising:
- Macquarie Asset Management: advising on the establishment of various Luxembourg and global debt funds including a hybrid evergreen infrastructure debt fund, as well as assisting with the launch of Macquarie Asset Management’s direct lending platform during a six-month secondment in the private credit legal team.
- iCapital/Ardian: advising iCapital on the launch of semi-liquid open-ended private equity and infrastructure funds, in collaboration with Ardian as investment manager.
- Cerberus: advising on the establishment of EU parallel fund structures across a range of asset classes, including direct lending, to take advantage of the AIFMD marketing passport.
- A Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund: advising on significant fund investments across the US and Europe primarily in flagship private equity and credit funds, as well as indirect and direct co-investments.
- Federated Hermes: advising on the launch of Federated Hermes Diversified Infrastructure Fund, with seed assets of c.£1.2bn transferred as part of a secondary process.
- iCapital: advising on the establishment of the FinTech company's European fintech platform and the structuring and launch of its various fund products, which focuses on providing broader access to the private funds market across a variety of asset classes.
- A number of pension plans: advising on their investments in alternative funds and investment platforms.
- Macquarie: advising on their overall ESG implementation project including reviewing organisational policies and procedures.
