Margot is an Antitrust & Foreign Investment Associate in the Corporate Department of the Lisbon office and assists domestic and international corporate clients in both domestic and cross-border cases, across a range of industries, including financial & banking, pharmaceutical & healthcare, air transport, tourism, retail, telecommunications, infrastructure and energy.
In terms of Competition law, her work covers the full spectrum of Antitrust/Competition Law matters. She provides advice on cartel cases, abuse of dominant position and other restrictive competition practices, represents clients in merger control proceedings before the European Commission and the Portuguese competition authority, provides advice on State aid matters, compliance, legal investigations/audits, and regularly delivers tailored training sessions. She also has experience in merger control cases in Spain and Lusophone African countries.
In terms of Foreign Investment, she provides advice on foreign direct investment (FDI) screening proceedings in Portugal, and the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR). Margot started her career in law in 2016 as a Trainee Lawyer at local law firm Rogério Fernandes Ferreira & Associados, where she became an Associate, and then joined the law firm Uría Menendez in Lisbon in 2019, being on secondment in its Madrid office in 2023. Margot joined Linklaters in 2025 in its Corporate Department.
Margot holds a Law Degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Nice and an LL.M. Joint Degree in European Legal Practice (ELPIS II) of the Faculties of Law of the University of Lisbon, of the Mykolas Romeris University of Vilnius and the University of Rouen. Additionally, Margot holds postgraduate degrees in Tax Law and in Competition and Regulation of the Institute of Economic, Financial and Fiscal Law (IDEFF) of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, and furthermore in EU Competition Law from King’s College London.
She is a fully qualified Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2019.
Margot speaks French (native tongue), Portuguese, Spanish and English.
