Overview
Shun is an associate in the NYC Energy & Infrastructure Practice at Linklaters. Prior to joining Linklaters, Shun was a summer associate at a premier law firm in Japan, as well as an editor / research assistant for a professor at the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law.
Work Highlights
- Volkswagen Group: advising Vokswagen on the launch on the planned 50-50 joint venture with Rivian Automotive for the development of software and electronics architectures, intended to be used in both companies’ future electric vehicles, as well as on planned investments by Volkswagen in Rivian.
- Advanced Power US Holdings Inc.: advising on a $100m senior secured revolving letter of credit and loan facility, including a $25m sublimit for revolving loans and a $25m sublimit for equipment loans. This supports a portfolio of solar, battery storage, and natural gas-fired power generating facilities in the United States, currently operating, under construction, and in development, totaling approximately 8,000MW.
- Elia Group SA/NV: representing in connection with energy regulatory matters related to its acquisition, through Elia Group’s wholly owned subsidiary WindGrid USA LLC, of a 35.1% stake in energyRe Giga Projects, a subsidiary of energyRe LLC, the proceeds of which will be used to fund renewable U.S. transmission and energy generation projects.
- DigitalBridge: advising on the acquisition of Yondr Group, a global developer, owner and operator of hyperscale data centres, through one of its managed investment funds.
- Attentive Energy One, a joint venture between TotalEnergies, Corio Generation and Rise Light & Power: advising on its OREC applications and proposals for both NY and NJ state solicitations.
Beyond the Office
While in law school, Shun was a summer associate at a premier law firm in Japan, as well as an editor / research assistant for a professor at the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law. Prior to attending law school, Shun was also a legal intern at a top Japanese law firm in their Singapore office.
