Welcome to our Winter Edition of Trustee Agenda.

As we settle into the winter months, our latest edition of Trustee Agenda focusses on two key developments affecting pension scheme trustees.

First, we take a closer look at the much-anticipated draft legislation designed to address the issues arising from the Virgin Media case. This offers affected schemes a route to obtain actuarial confirmation retrospectively for historic benefit changes and came as welcome news to many trustees. We highlight some of the issues trustees will need to consider once the legislation comes into force next year. 

Second, we explore what the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 means in practice for corporate trustees, including the new identity verification requirements and the failure to prevent fraud offence.
