Overview
Fionnghuala (Finn) advises on UK and cross-border public and private M&A transactions, and is a key relationship contact for clients on general corporate advisory and governance matters. Finn has particular expertise within the financial institutions sector, including bank, insurance and asset management M&A deals, loan portfolio sales/acquisitions, FSMA transfer schemes and the UK ring-fencing regime.
As a Global Co-head of Fintech within Linklaters, Finn also has specialist knowledge of the fintech and broader tech sector, with extensive experience of later stage fundraisings, minority investments and strategic partnerships, and complex consortium transactions within the sector.
Finn was named in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 in 2020, and was also listed as a Next Generation Partner in the Legal 500 as part of Linklaters’ Tier 1 M&A practice and UK Fintech practice.

- Ninety One on its strategic partnership with Sanlam
- Aristocrat Leisure on its proposed takeover of Playtech
- AUB Group on its acquisition of Tysers Insurance Brokers
- Investec on the demerger and listing of its asset management business, Ninety One, and on its disposal of Kensington Mortgages
- Mondi on the simplification of its dual listed company structure
- Neuravi (Irish medtech business) on its sale to Johnson & Johnson
- RK Harrison on its sale to Hyperion Insurance
- Lloyds Banking Group on its acquisition of the Teso Bank mortgage book and on compliance with the UK ring-fencing regime, including its Part VII ring-fencing transfer scheme
- Deutsche Börse on its proposed merger with London Stock Exchange Group
- on the disposal of Egg Banking, including the sale of its credit card portfolio to Barclays and the transfer of its deposits business through Part VII FSMA banking business transfer scheme
