The UK and the Hague Judgments Convention – 1 July is coming…

As previously reported in BankingLitigationLinks, last year the UK took the important step of ratifying the Hague Judgments Convention 2019 (HJC). It is now due to enter into force for the UK on 1 July 2025.

This is an important event as, amongst other things, it will alter the post-Brexit legal landscape for the recognition and enforcement of court judgments from the EU Member States (excluding Denmark) in the UK and vice versa. It is therefore a development of relevance to both disputes and transactional lawyers alike.

We discuss this development in greater detail in an article by our LA&I and Banking team on our Client Knowledge Portal. Please click here for more.
