Meghan O’Sullivan is the Jeane Kirkpatrick Professor of the Practice of International Affairs and the Director of the Geopolitics of Energy Project at Harvard University’s Kennedy School. She is also a Partner at the strategic consulting firm Macro Advisory Partners and is the Chair of the North American Group of the Trilateral Commission. Meghan has extensive experience in policy formulation and in negotiation. She is currently a member of Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s Foreign Policy Advisory Board.
Alison is the Global Co-Head of our Business Crime practice. She was previously the most senior public prosecutor in England and Wales, as the Director of Public Prosecutions and head of the Crown Prosecution Service. Alison’s experience and knowledge of criminal prosecutions allows her to offer clients a unique insight into investigations and prosecutions by criminal and regulatory agencies in the UK and around the world.
Andrew is the head of FCA’s Financial Crime Department. He joined the FSA in 2012 and has previously led the FCA’s supervision of Retail Banks, the ring-fencing project for Retail Banks and the supervision of retail insurance firms. He has also worked in the FCA’s enforcement division (where he led on complex retail investigations). Prior to joining the regulator, he was a partner in a law firm where he advised financial services firms and other large corporates on regulatory issues and complex disputes.
Luke is the Senior Manager in the FCA’s Financial Crime Department, overseeing the delivery of the FCA’s sanctions supervisory work. He joined the FCA in 2010 and has held a number of supervisory and operational roles in the FCA, including Private Secretary roles for Executive Directors of Authorisations and Supervision. He has previously worked on establishing new functions, teams and ways of working in the FCA. Prior to his current role, this included creating and leading teams who proactively identify firms conducting unauthorised business.
Chloe Cina is a barrister of 17 years Call and international financial sanctions expert. She started her career at the United Nations and went onto practice at the criminal bar before joining the UK Treasury Solicitor’s Department in 2008 where she worked in the National Security team on terrorism and sanctions related litigation. She was a Foreign Office legal advisor specialising in financial sanctions and security policy in the EU and UN, leading the nuclear legal team for the UK before joining HSBC in 2016 as the UK Head of Sanctions. She joined Deutsche Bank in 2018.
Elly is a senior lawyer who regularly advises companies on the whole range of issues relating to business crime, including sanctions and anti-corruption compliance. Elly has advised many clients on compliance issues relating to the Ukraine-related sanctions imposed in 2022, as well as on strategies to comply with anti-boycott legislation while mitigating sanctions risk.
Satindar is widely acknowledged as an expert in sanctions, corporate crime and fraud. He leads the firm’s sanctions practice and has developed the market standard in relation to Russian sanctions. Satindar regularly advises clients on governmental investigations including by the UK’s Serious Fraud Office, the National Crime Agency and the Office for Financial Sanctions Implementation. His work includes advising more than 70 clients in relation to the European Union’s Russian sanctions regime.
Kerstin is co-head of the German crisis management & compliance group. She has advised a wide range of financial and corporate clients on EU sanctions risks focusing on Russia related sanctions, but her advice also extends to the EU Blocking Regulation and sanctions screening processes.
Sean is a senior associate in Linklaters’ dispute resolution group. He focuses on white-collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and advising on cross-border regulatory compliance. Sean regularly advises clients on a broad array of issues, including U.S. economic sanctions, anti-boycott laws, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the False Claims Act, securities enforcement, and anti-money laundering laws.
Charlie Steele is a Partner in FRA’s Washington, DC office. Charlie is a former senior U.S. Treasury Department and Department of Justice official with more than 30 years of government and private-sector experience in civil and criminal compliance, investigations, enforcement, and litigation matters, in a variety of industries and sectors. For the past several years he has specialized primarily in Economic Sanctions and Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) matters.
Charlie Patrick is a Partner at FRA and Chartered Accountant with almost 25 years’ experience working in forensic accounting, investigations and compliance. Charlie has extensive experience as a forensic accountant and investigator, working for UK based and global businesses across a range of industries ranging from retailers to banks. He has wide international experience with over seven years working outside of the UK.
Laura is a Associate Director in the Forensic Accounting team with over seven years of forensic accounting, investigations, disputes and external audit experience. Laura was part of the FRA team supporting Airbus in a multi-year forensic accounting and eDiscovery review within the context of the company’s multinational investigation, reporting to four investigative authorities: UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO), the US Department of Justice (DOJ), the US Department of State (DOS) and French Parquet National Financier (PNF).
James is a Managing Associate in Linklaters’ dispute resolution practice in London. He has a broad practice covering commercial dispute resolution, contentious regulation, business crime and sanctions and investigations. James has been involved in advising on sanctions since 2015, when he spent six months in the Moscow offices of Linklaters LLP. He has been highly involved with Linklaters’ response to and advising on recent Ukraine-related sanctions.
Ellie is an Associate in Linklaters’ dispute resolution practice in London, formerly at Allens in Melbourne. Ellie has a range of commercial litigation experience, with a particular focus on contentious regulatory and business crime investigations, as well as business crime related compliance, advisory and uplift work. Ellie has assisted clients with large-scale anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and corruption and fraud related investigations, and regularly advises clients on navigating the sanctions landscape.
