Simon’s practice sits at the intersection between financial regulation and technology. He guides clients through various UK and EU regulatory developments including fintech topics, payment services, AI in financial services and operational resilience, including the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). As well as regularly producing client alerts, briefings and webinars, Simon also hosts the Linklaters payments podcast.

Simon also has experience advising financial services firms on the impact of Brexit and plans to deliver a smarter regulatory framework for the UK; culture, conduct and corporate governance in financial services, including the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR); and the regulation of client assets (CASS).
Simon delivers interactive training on financial services regulation, including horizon scanning sessions. Every year he writes a Payments Outlook and co-authors the UK chapter of Global Legal Insights – Banking Regulation, a global comparative guide.
Simon develops LegalTech tools for colleagues and clients, such as Linklaters Law Compare which helps firms manage divergence between EU and UK rules in key areas of financial regulation. He also works closely with the Linklaters team of AI lawyers to advise clients on AI adoption within legal and compliance functions, including how AI can be used to maintain regulatory inventories and for regulatory horizon scanning.
