Linklaters advises Renner Energies on Holdco financing for four Belgian windfarms

A Linklaters team led by Laurens Cools advised Renner Energies, a BlackRock portfolio company, on the Holdco financing of four windfarms in Flanders and Wallonia, Belgium, collectively generating approximately 50 MW of renewable energy. 

The Financing, secured through Renner Energies Holdco Belgium as borrower, marks the first financial close in a series of future projects, supporting the long-term development of additional windfarms by Renner Energies in Belgium. 

Key projects include the Tongeren-Oost windfarm, under construction in Flanders, and Walcourt windfarm in Wallonia, starting construction this summer. Together, they will contribute an additional 22 MW, to the to the current 25 MW produced by the existing windfarms, collectively providing green electricity to over 25,000 households. 

The long-term debt refinancing, provided by KBC Bank, supports Renner Energies' growth and sustainability ambitions.

The transaction was led by Laurens Cools in the Energy & Infrastructure team, with Henri Boone, Naomy Brun and Maximilian Drijber supported by Kélian Rask and Coralie Mencik. The team also included Melissa Verplancke, Corneel Debusscher and Corentin Burton.
