Overview
Emma is a Knowledge Lawyer in the Antitrust & Foreign Investment group, a role unique to Linklaters.
As PDL, Emma works closely with clients to provide updates on market trends, legal and regulatory developments and considers how they may impact their business. With over nine years’ experience as a competition lawyer, Emma has experience advising on cartel investigations, mergers and acquisitions, market investigations, abuse of a dominant position and other commercial agreements. She has completed inhouse secondments to Visa and UBS. Emma offers a balance of legal and market experience in the role of PDL and is a key contact for clients as part of their core Linklaters’ teams.
Emma has worked across a range of sectors including financial services, energy, technology and consumer.
She has recently led the Antitrust & Foreign Investment team’s focus on competition law and sustainability, a topic we expect to gain increasing prominence. Our dedicated series can be explored here. She also has extensive experience advising on compliance policies with a focus on advising clients on market standard practice.

Emma is a regular speaker on global, EU and UK competition law at Linklaters events and external conferences. She is a regular contributor to our LinkingCompetition blog, as well as our UK Merger Control blog, Platypus. Her external publications include:

Emma has tutored undergraduate students at Oxford University in Competition Law and prior to starting her legal career worked as a research assistant to Dr. Ariel Ezrachi Professor of Competition Law at University of Oxford.
She is a member of the Competition Law Section of the Law Society and the Inclusive Competition Forum.
Education and qualifications
Emma holds a first class degree in Law with Law Studies in Europe (German law) from the University of Oxford. As part of her degree she spent a year studying German law at the University of Konstanz, Germany.
She speaks English and German.
