Overview

Since joining Linklaters in March 2018, Jemma has acted for:

  • a major UK retail bank on an FCA enforcement investigation into mortgage arrears handling;
  • a FTSE 250 company on SFO, DOJ and FCA investigations in relation to concerns of bribery and corruption; and
  • an international fund on regulatory risk arising out of non-financial misconduct.

Jemma has also been involved in Brexit-related advisory work for a number of the firm’s financial institution clients.

Professional experience

Prior to joining Linklaters, in her previous role as Associate at Baker McKenzie, Jemma spent one year on secondment to the Bank of England. Jemma spent six months in the investigation team of the PRA, primarily working on an investigation into two large banks which resulted in the PRA issuing its largest fine to date. Jemma also spent six months in the Bank of England Brexit team, advising on the impact of Brexit both generally and, more specifically, in relation to the impact on financial stability and financial services firms.

Education and qualifications

Jemma obtained her undergraduate degree in Law with Chinese Law from the University of Nottingham. As part of her degree, Jemma spent one year studying at Hong Kong University.
