Overview

As an English law specialist in debt and equity capital markets transactions, Linda leads the international Debt Capital Markets practice in the firm’s Milan office. She advises Italian issuers and international underwriters on a broad range of capital markets transactions, including IPOs, Medium Term Note (MTN) programmes, bond issues (secured and unsecured), block trades, exchangeable/convertible bonds, hybrid bonds, green/social/transition bonds, sustainability linked bonds, regulatory capital and liability management exercises. Linda is also co-head of the Linklaters Italian ESG practise, which includes lawyers from all practise areas of the firm to deliver a full service offer on ESG matters.

Work highlights

Linda has counselled on a wide range of capital markets transactions. These include advising:

  • the underwriting banks in the first ever European sustainability linked bond issued by ENEL in 2019 and also in the first ever sustainability linked bond from the Oil & Gas sector issued by ENI in 2021;
  • the lead managers in the first ever Italian perpetual hybrid bond issued by Enel in 2020;
  • funds and issuers in bespoke funding solutions involving bond structures including complex covenant, remuneration and corporate solutions;
  • underwriters and issuers in a number of standalone bonds ranging from plain vanilla to heavily covenanted including Carraro, Webuild and Kedrion;
  • dealers, managers and issuers in relation to EMTN programmes and issues of senior, subordinated and green bonds including Generali, Snam and Hera;
  • the dealer managers in a variety of liability management transactions with a range of different structures including Hera, ENEL, ENI, Telecom Italia

Professional experience

Linda sits on the committee of the Milan office’s corporate responsibility (CR) programme.

Education and qualifications

Linda studied law and French at Birmingham University, including an exchange year spent in University of Limoges.

She speaks English, Italian, Spanish and French.
