Overview

Rob is a corporate partner in the Singapore office, focusing on transactions involving private equity houses and other financial investors. Rob worked for over 8 years in the Linklaters London and Shanghai offices before moving to Singapore to help grow the firm’s financial sponsor practice in Asia.
 
Rob has extensive experience acting for clients in Europe and Asia on cross-border transactions, including private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, growth capital investments and corporate reorganisations. His experience acting for financial sponsors on the full range of investment stages, including venture capital investments and control buy-outs, means he can provide solutions across a company’s growth cycle.
 
He has acted on transactions in sectors including technology, infrastructure, education, real estate and services.
 
During his time in London, Rob spent time on secondment to HgCapital (now Hg), a leading European-headquartered private equity house.
 
Work highlights

Rob has led, or been a key adviser on, a number of significant transactions involving financial sponsors, including:
 
  • a financial sponsor as lead investor in the latest funding round of one of China’s highest value peer-to-peer lending and wealth management platforms
  • an institutional investor on its investment in a leading global mobile marketing and advertising platform provider based in Singapore
  • Hg on numerous buyside and sellside transactions, particularly in the technology sector, including the acquisitions of fundinfo AG, a leading technology platform for fund data, and its subsequent bolt-on of FE; EidosMedia, a multi-channel publishing platform business; and Zitcom and ScanNet, two online hosting businesses, and their subsequent disposal by way of an auction sale to Waterland Private Equity
  • TIAA on the establishment of two multi-billion euro joint venture platforms for investments in real estate, including multiple acquisitions through those platforms
  • Global Infrastructure Partners on its US$1.929bn investment in Terminal Investment Limited SA, the holding company of the port terminal businesses of Mediterranean Shipping Company
  • Dymon Asia Venture Capital on its investment into a company using AI to develop cybersecurity solutions
  • Zimplistic, a Singapore-based food technology start-up, on its Series C fundraising from Credence and EDBI
