Linklaters advises BC Partners on its investment in Davies

Linklaters has advised funds advised by BC Partners, a leading international investment firm, on its definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in Davies, the leading specialist professional services and technology business serving the global insurance market.

Davies delivers professional services and technology solutions across the risk and insurance value chain. It currently employs over 4,000 people supporting more than 800 clients around the world, and in recent years has expanded into new markets including Bermuda, Canada and the US.

The new partnership, which will involve existing investors HGGC and AIMCo retaining minority stakes alongside the management team, will diversify and strengthen Davies shareholder base, as it seeks to drive further global expansion, increase investment in technology and digital transformation, and to continue to partner with complementary businesses via M&A.

The Linklaters team was led by Partner Ben Rodham with Lauren Bretton (Managing Associate) and Tom Gavin (Associate) with support from Sebastian Barling (Partner, Financial Regulation), Jean Price (Counsel, Financial Regulation), Rachel Hetherington (Partner, antitrust), Verity Egerton-Doyle (Managing Associate, antitrust) and Jamie Coomber (Counsel, Tax).
