Linklaters Associate named 2021 EMpower Future Leader Role Model

Linklaters Associate Hope Levy-Shepherd has featured in the EMpower Top 100 Ethnic Minority Future Leaders List 2021, celebrating successful minority ethnic role models who are making a substantial impact on inclusion in business. Supported by Yahoo Finance, the list identifies inspiring individuals who are making a significant contribution to bringing about change and advancing inclusion.

Hope has championed inclusion throughout her career and is an integral member of Linklaters’ Ethnicity and Race Network (UK). In the wake of George Floyd’s death in the United States, exposing systemic inequalities that continue to be experienced by members of the Black community, Hope has supported Linklaters’ Race Action Plan and facilitated courageous conversations about race across the firm and with clients. Furthermore, she has used her experiences a mentor on the firm’s Reverse Mentoring Scheme to build awareness and understanding of different people’s perspectives and experiences.

Amongst her work to inspire and support the next generation, Hope is actively involved in Linklaters’ Making Links programmes and continues to support the activities of African and Caribbean societies at a number of universities across the UK.

Hope Levy-Shepherd, Associate at Linklaters, comments: I am honoured to have been recognised by EMpower for driving change and contributing to a more inclusive business community. I’m proud to work at a firm where I’ve been able to get involved in the culture, which celebrates peoples’ different experiences and encourages individuals to bring their whole selves to work.”
Founder & CEO of INvolve, Suki Sandhu OBE, states: “I’m thrilled to be celebrating another incredible group of Ethnic Minority and Advocate Role Models who are championing inclusion and inspiring the next generation of talent. Discrimination and barriers to success are still prevalent for ethnic minority groups and Role Models are essential to change perceptions and show everyone that you can be successful in business while also being your authentic self at work.”
