Trustee Agenda Autumn 2023

Welcome to our Autumn edition of Trustee Agenda.

Although trustees have long been aware of the risks posed by cyber security breaches, the well-publicised Capita incident has undoubtedly and unsurprisingly sharpened focus on those risks. In this edition of Trustee Agenda, we share key learnings from this incident, highlighting some practical steps that can be taken to manage the impact of cyber security breaches generally and to ensure that trustees are best placed to respond to them.

We also look at the package of reforms signalled by Jeremy Hunt in his Mansion House speech in July. These reforms, if enacted, could have a significant impact, particularly in relation to “end game planning” for defined benefit pension schemes and we continue to monitor developments with keen interest.

The curriculum for the Autumn term then looks pretty full and there is much to keep us occupied over the coming months.
