DC Agenda Summer 2025

Welcome to our Summer Edition of DC Agenda

We have two articles for you this time, a longer piece comparing and contrasting the existing DC master trust regime with the new CDC authorisation regime for unassociated multi-employer schemes (or “UMES” – I am sure the pension industry is ready for a new acronym). There are, not surprisingly, a great number of similarities and the differences tend to arise fairly obviously from the different nature of the benefit calculation and funding arrangements, so many existing DC master trusts considering CDC may feel that their existing compliance structures will carry them quite well along the way.

Our second article details the Small Pots Delivery Group’s report and recommendations, as well as the Government’s conclusions on various issues arising from it.

Small pots is one of the many DC changes anticipated to be legislated for in the upcoming Pension Schemes Bill, which is starting to look like it will be a bumper bill for DC providers. Enjoy the summer, as this autumn may be busy!

As always, if you have any thoughts for further topics you would like to see covered or there is anything you would like to discuss, please do contact me or one of your usual Linklaters contacts.
