Linklaters has advised Brookfield on its SEK 9.2 billion acquisition of stake in SBB's portfolio for public education

Linklaters has advised Brookfield Super-Core Infrastructure Partners on its SEK 9.2 billion acquisition of a 49% stake in social infrastructure portfolio for public education from SBB. The transaction also includes earn out payments up to SEK 1.2 billion.

The portfolio will be restructured by SBB selling its entire social infrastructure portfolio for education (which includes preschools, primary schools, secondary schools and universities) of SEK 44.9 billion, to a newly form group company, EduCo, where SBB will own 51 % of the shares. The portfolio consists of 585 assets, with 55% of the gross value in Sweden, 38% in Norway, 5% in Finland and 2% in Denmark. For 2023, revenues of SEK 2.3 billion and an operating profit of SEK 1.9 billion are expected, corresponding to an initial net return excluding earn-outs of 4.4 percent.
