Community Investment 

We are committed to making a positive impact on our neighbourhoods and wider environment, both locally and globally. This includes running our premises in the most sustainable way as well as providing business support to the marginalised around us.

Our Community Investment programme continues to focus on two areas:

Realising the aspirations of local young people using the skills and experience of our people,  and growing the capabilities of not-for profit organisations using the legal and commercial skills of our people. These themes help us to ensure that we are fulfilling our role as a good neighbour to the communities around our offices.

This emphasis on consistency across our network and the priority we give to the most valuable volunteering encompasses our belief that the quality of what we do is more important than quantity. We do not set a goal for the number of pro bono hours per lawyer or total volunteering hours across the firm.

  • Global Community Mark

    We are proud of our community investment programme and are delighted to have been awarded a global CommunityMark for our efforts. Awarded by Business in the Community, this is the premier quality mark in the field and we have become only the third business - after Microsoft and Anglo American - to receive it for our global activity.

  • Tailored volunteering uses our skills

    Identifying great opportunities for our support professionals is hugely important. These often see our volunteers offering their professional advice to community groups close to our offices, ensuring that we develop a programme that provides relevant support to grow the capabilities of a wide variety of not-for-profit organisations around the globe.

    We continue to see volunteering as an excellent development tool and as a result we have teamed up with our learning and development team to launch a pilot project globally to encourage more of our people to consider volunteering as an opportunity to step outside of their comfort zone, develop skills, and broaden their horizons

  • Long term partnerships

    Solid and safe partnerships remain critical to our programme and almost all of our charity partners are with us for at least three years and many for substantially longer. This allows us to develop real understanding of each others' needs and our activities grow ever more relevant to both. Many of our relationships are supported by written agreements and these bring certainty and clarity to our commitments and conversations.

Linklaters Chelsea Garden 2017

Chelsea Flower Show

  • Linklaters is delighted to be sponsoring a show garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May 2017.  We have been working closely with our Chelsea gold medal-winning designer, Darren Hawkes, and our charity partners, Maggie’s cancer charity and Inspired Directions School.  A new Maggie’s centre is being built at St Bartholomew’s Hospital near our London office and will provide a lasting legacy for the garden.  We also want you to take part and enjoy the garden.
