Overview

Alexander heads the firm’s Dutch equity practice. His primary focus is on advising investment banks and issuers on equity and equity-linked issues, as well as high yield debt issues. Alexander further has a debt capital markets practice, where he advises on medium term note programmes and issues of debt instruments.

Earlier in his career, Alexander spent two years in the firm’s New York office, giving him direct experience of working with U.S. clients and a broader perspective of equity capital markets generally. 

Alexander has been a key adviser in many high-profile transactions. Recent highlights include advising:

  • ABN AMRO, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and ING on their standby underwriting commitment for Takeaway.com in connection with its acquisition of Delivery Hero’s German businesses, and the take-out through an accelerated bookbuild transaction and convertible bond issue
  • RHI Magnesita N.V. on its relocation to the Netherlands through a cross-border merger and subsequent listing on the London Stock Exchange
  • Unilever on the proposed simplification of its structure under a new holding company in the Netherlands
  • the underwriters on the initial public offering and listing on Euronext Amsterdam of B&S Group
  • the underwriters on the initial public offering and listing on Euronext Amsterdam of VolkerWessels, a leading Dutch construction group
  • the underwriters on the initial public offering and listing on Euronext Amsterdam of Takeaway.com, a leading online food delivery marketplace in various Continental European countries
  • the underwriters on the privatisation, initial public offering and listing on Euronext Amsterdam of ASR Nederland, a major Dutch insurance group
  • the underwriters on the initial public offering and listing on Euronext Amsterdam of Flow Traders, the Dutch market maker in Exchange Traded Funds
  • the underwriters on rights issues of Delta Lloyd, KPN and TomTom

Professional experience

Alexander lectures on IPOs for the masters course in corporate finance at Utrecht University, and writes and speaks regularly on capital markets topics.

Education and qualifications

Alexander studied law at the University of Utrecht.
