Overview

Ann-Christin is a Managing Associate in our global Antitrust & Foreign Investment practice. She is based in Munich and currently seconded to our Washington D.C. office. Ann-Christin specialises in German and European antitrust and foreign investment control law and has, in particular, significant experience in complex foreign investment and merger control proceedings in Germany and other jurisdictions globally.

Ann-Christin also comprehensively advises clients in abuse of dominance cases and cartel proceedings before the European Commission and the German Federal Cartel Office as well as in compliance matters and in internal investigations with respect to potential competition law infringements.

Before joining our Munich office, Ann-Christin worked in our offices in Düsseldorf and Brussels.

Work highlights

Ann-Christin has most recently advised inter alia on the following cases:

  • Carrier: advising on the EUR 12 bn acquisition on the Viessmann Climate Solution business.
  • Dialog Semiconductor: advising on the EUR 4.9 bn. takeover by Renesas Electronics.
  • Mercedes Benz Group and Daimler Trucks: advising on merger and foreign investment control aspects regarding the separation of both groups.
  • Elmos Semiconductor: Advising on German foreign investment control aspects (phase II proceeding) regarding the attempted sale of a semiconductor fab.
  • Macquarie: advising on the sale of its participation in Open Grid.
  • AKKA Technologies: advising on the EUR 2bn combination with Adecco.
  • Qatar Investment Authority: Advising on the EUR 2.43bn investment in RWE through a convertible bond.

Professional experience

Before joining Linklaters, Ann-Christin was as a trainee lawyer at the German Embassy in Norway.

She is a member of the German Antitrust Law Association (Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht e.V.), the German Foreign Investment Control Association (Forum Investitionsprüfung e.V.) and of the German-American Lawyers Association (Deutsch-Amerikanische Juristen-Vereinigung e.V.).

Education and qualifications

Ann-Christin holds a law degree from the University of Passau and completed her legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court in Düsseldorf.

She speaks German, English, French and Norwegian.
