Susan is experienced in advising financial institutions, corporates and insolvency practitioners in relation to contentious issues arising from restructuring, insolvency and corporate distress situations, including those with a cross-border element.
Recent cases include advising the administrators of the Lehman Brothers companies following the bank’s well-publicised collapse in September 2008; continued work in relation to the Enron insolvencies, including advising in relation to a substantial transaction at an undervalue application; acting for financial institutions in relation to complex tax appeals before the Tax Tribunal; and advising in relation to the settlement of multi-million pound disputes with HMRC .
