I am based in London and have spent time in the Singapore office. I have recently returned from a client secondment in Switzerland.

  • bp: advising bp on the acquisition of the 50.03% interest it does not already own in Lightsource bp, a developer and operator of utility-scale solar and battery storage assets.
  • Macquarie: advising Macquarie Asset Management on its acquisition of a 50% stake in Last Mile Infrastructure Group (Last Mile) from Infracapital, the infrastructure equity investment arm of M&G Plc.
  • Thermo Fisher: advising on its acquisition of The Binding Site, a global leader in specialty diagnostics, from a shareholder group led by Nordic Capital, in a transaction valued at £2.25bn.
  • WSP: advising on its US$1.9bn acquisition of the environment & infrastructure business of John Wood Group plc.
  • Vodafone: advising on Vodafone’s strategic partnership with GIP and KKR for Vantage Towers.
  • Mainstream Renewable Power: advising Mainstream Renewable Power, a global pure-play renewable energy company, on its acquisition by Aker Horizons.
  • PwC: advising on the disposal of its global mobility services business to Clayton, Dubilier & Rice for over US$2bn.
  • Carlyle: advising on the acquisition from Mubadala of a significant minority stake in CEPSA, Europe's largest privately-owned integrated oil & gas company.
  • Jingye Steel: advising on the acquisition of the business and assets of British Steel out of insolvency, safeguarding more than 3,200 jobs.

  • International Chamber of Commerce: advising on matters of corporate governance and structure to allow them to effectively implement their goal of 'championing the global economy'.
  • A number of UK listed companies (including Ashmore Group, Fresnillo, Endeavour Mining and Gem Diamonds): advising on their continuing regulatory obligations.
  • Endeavour Mining: advising on its acquisition of Avnel Gold Mining.
  • Glencore: advising as part of a consortium with the Qatar Investment Authority, on the disposal of a 14.16% stake in Rosneft Oil Company.
  • TerraForm Power: advising on the sale of its UK solar projects portfolio to Vortex Solar, a renewable energy platform managed by EFG Hermes' private equity arm.
  • Barclays Bank: advising on the sale of a portfolio of derivatives linked to private finance initiatives to Aviva Life & Pensions.
  • Caffe Nero: advising on the acquisition of a majority stake in the Coffee#1 coffee chain.
  • CapMan: advising on its investment, on behalf certain major financial institutions in Korea, of a large onshore wind farm in Sweden. 
     

Education and qualifications

Tom graduated from Durham University in 2012 with a BA Hons in Modern Languages. He read law at the University of Law in London.
