Linklaters appoints new Managing Partner in Luxembourg

Linklaters announces that Patrick Geortay has been appointed as National Managing Partner of the Luxembourg office, for a four-year term from 1 May 2016.

Patrick, who previously held this position between 2007 and 2010, succeeds Freddy Brausch. Freddy will return to exclusively focus on asset management clients and transactions and continue to represent the firm in various industry and advisory committees.

Patrick has been a partner in the Luxembourg office since 2001 and has an extensive knowledge of the firm and its client base. He heads the Linklaters capital markets and banking group in Luxembourg and also takes a lead in the overall coordination of the Real Estate offering for the office. In order to ensure a smooth leadership transition process, he has been working alongside Freddy Brausch over the past 12 months.

Patrick Geortay comments: "I am extremely honoured to be given this privilege especially given some of the exciting developments on the horizon for our fund, banking and private equity clients. The team in Luxembourg are incredibly talented and involved in some of the biggest and most complex transactions in the market so I am very proud to be taking the helm again in such a dynamic office."

Gideon Moore, Firmwide Managing Partner, said "I would like to take the opportunity to thank Freddy for all his hard work over the last few years. He has really helped to shape our offering in the region and I’m delighted that he will continue to work with the team going forward. I am also pleased to welcome Patrick back into the role. He is ideally placed to take our business forward. He has an incredible depth of knowledge and insight and I am excited about what the future holds for our team in Luxembourg."
