Linklaters’ parental leave policy (UK)

That’s why Linklaters is committed to championing good practice in relation to parents through our policies, support and benefits, combined with a culture of agile working for all. 

As part of that, in the UK, we offer the following:

  • 52 weeks maternity/adoption leave and enhanced maternity/adoption pay of 26 weeks full pay and 13 weeks at set Government statutory rate
  • Enhanced full paternity pay for 2 weeks
  • For parents of a child under 18 years old, we offer 18 weeks unpaid parental leave for each child, which can be taken in blocks of one week or more up to a maximum of four weeks in a year for each child
  • Enhanced shared parental pay of 26 weeks full pay and 13 weeks at set Government statutory rate. Eligible new working parents can choose how to share the care of their child for up to 50 weeks of leave between them, during the first year following the child’s birth or adoption.

All employees are entitled to enhanced maternity, paternity and shared parental pay once they have been continuously employed by us for at least 12 months by the end of the 15th week before the expected week of childbirth.
