Diversity on boards: listed companies to ‘comply or explain’ and publish data

The Financial Conduct Authority is consulting on proposals to improve transparency on the diversity of listed company boards and executive management teams. Proposed new listing rules will require premium and standard-listed companies to publish a 'comply or explain statement' as to whether they have achieved certain proposed targets for gender and ethnic minority representation on their boards and publish data on the make-up of their board and most senior level of executive management, in terms of gender and ethnicity.
