FCA finalises rules for investment research payment optionality for fund managers

The FCA has published its policy statement (PS25/4) on investment research payment optionality for fund managers. The rules, which came into force on 9 May 2025, allow fund managers to make joint payments for investment research and execution services, subject to complying with a set of guardrails (similarly to the joint payment option introduced for institutional investors from 1 August 2024).
