Saudi Arabia joins in – why the Middle East is a more competitive and relevant legal market than ever
“As we deepen our roots and relationships here, we shall also be in prime position to help our clients deal with the geopolitical events that are a fact of life in the Middle East.”
The Middle East’s importance to global law firms has grown significantly in the past two years. In 2023, Saudi Arabia reshaped the legal market by reforming its Code of Law Practice under its ‘Vision 2030’ project, aimed at boosting foreign investment and diversifying its economy. This reform made it easier for foreign law firms to operate, and top firms, including Linklaters, quickly seized the opportunity.
This month on the alumni website, we talk to Waleed Rasromani, Head of Linklaters’ new office in Riyadh, as well as two of Linklaters’ Dubai-based partners, Reem Alsayegh and Matt Keats. The trio trace the progress of Linklaters’ strategic vision in the Middle East, explain the firm’s preference for a long-term approach and look ahead to an exciting future.
