Sound policies and enforceable legislation for the promotion

of gender equality

Lawyers across eight of our offices produced a report for Penal Reform International on extent to which domestic courts in ten countries consider a past history of abuse as a mitigating factor when sentencing women convicted of violent crime against their abusers. The aim is to address the gender bias that exists in criminal justice systems, in that most fail to recognise the impact of prolonged domestic violence in these cases.

Ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal

opportunities

In partnership with Deutsche Bank, we established ’Engagement im Gallus', a programme promoting inclusion through education, training and assistance to female entrepreneurs in one of Frankfurt’s most disadvantaged neighbourhoods. We provide general business support to local women and to the project itself. Our own Women’s Leadership Programme identifies top female talent, aiming ultimately to increase the number of female partners in the firm. The nine month programme is designed in collaboration with Cranfield School of Management and provides a structured route to career development and learning.
