Global - Business Crime Quarterly - Autumn 2018

Regulation and enforcement are the overriding themes of this edition of Business Crime Quarterly. Across the globe authorities are ramping up their anti-corruption initiatives, while 1800 delegates at the recent International Anti-Corruption Conference vowed to work to end impunity for the corrupt. We report on current prosecutions in the UK, look at the likely direction for the UK’s SFO under its new director and note clarification by the U.S. DOJ of its enforcement policies, which emphasise the importance of self-reporting wrongdoing, cooperation and remediation.
