Magenta Horizons event 2024
AI. The road ahead
Linklaters’ 14th annual client conference was once again attended by a wide selection of guests from across Luxembourg’s financial and corporate sector. With a long-established reputation for bringing fresh thinking to key business topics, this year the conference addressed AI - no longer a buzzword for tech departments but a mainstream trend set to deliver unprecedented disruption. We were delighted to bring to the stage two experts working in different areas of AI.
Keynote speaker, Nina Schick, is a leading voice in the world of disruptive technology with a particular recognition of her in-depth understanding of the changing AI landscape. She offered practical strategies to help companies embrace the opportunities AI can bring as well as clear advice on how to steer a path through the challenges.
Our regular Magenta Horizons host, Lisa Burke from RTL Today, talked to Juha Heikkilä, Adviser for Artificial Intelligence in the European Commission Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology. Responsible for developing the international dimension of the EU AI strategy, Juha shared his views on the debate surrounding regulation versus innovation along with an insight into global governance in the AI space.
Together their insights and analyses helped paint a clear picture of what lies ahead: the challenges, opportunities and the pitfalls to watch out for. Is humanity ready for the new era of AI ? This Magenta Horizons’ summary outlines what the experts think.
