Alex is a transactional construction Managing Associate experienced in advising all members of the construction industry across a range of sectors.

As our Head of UK Construction, Alex has particular experience in advising investors and funders on market leading deals and he has also acted for a range of occupiers and developers in the UK development market. 

Work highlights

Alex has advised on a number of high-profile real estate transactions – particular highlights include:

  • Home Builders Federation: advising the homebuilders’ representative body in its negotiations with the government regarding a comprehensive fire safety defect self-remediation agreement for the homebuilding industry.
  • GIC and Greystar: advising on the €3.3bn acquisition of Student Roost, the UK’s third largest purpose-built student accommodation provider.
  • Ho Bee Land: advising on their £718m acquisition of The Scalpel landmark office building in the City of London.
  • City Developments Limited (CDL): advising on the £395m purchase of the 23-acre mixed-use scheme and marina at St Katharine Docks from funds advised by Blackstone.
  • A consortium of lenders: advising on the c.£772m development financing for a residential and luxury hotel skyscraper development scheme at One Nine Elms, London.
  • Lendlease: advising on its £1.9bn Birmingham Smithfield City Centre development covering 17 hectares.

Education and qualifications

Alex studied Law at Cambridge University.
