Overview

Jarrett is an associate in Linklaters’ Litigation, Arbitration, & Investigations group in the firm’s New York office. Jarrett focuses on complex commercial litigation at both the trial and appellate level, regulatory enforcement, white collar criminal defense, and internal investigations.

Work highlights

Jarrett’s experience includes advising:

  • A semiconductor supplier in a breach of contract dispute in the Commercial Division of New York Supreme Court;
  • A multinational bank in a civil antitrust class action;
  • An electronics manufacturer in an intellectual property and NDA dispute before a federal court;
  • A group of insurance companies in a data privacy and cybersecurity breach investigation and civil suit brought by the New York Attorney General;
  • A pharmaceutical company in the successful dismissal of a multidistrict class action products liability suit based on federal preemption;
  • Several executives in the digital assets industry in SEC and DOJ investigations related to compliance with US securities laws;
  • A sovereign government in a civil breach of contract suit related to payment obligations under antique bonds;
  • An infrastructure developer in a major antitrust investigation;
  • The CEO of a publicly traded biotechnology company in conspiracy, insider trading, securities fraud, and wire fraud charges brought by the DOJ, winning acquittal on the most serious felony charge;
  • Several corporations and private equity sponsors in litigation- and enforcement-related diligence in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and other major corporate transactions.

Professional experience

Jarrett is committed to pro bono work focusing on civil rights and has worked to fight police misconduct and discriminatory legislation. Jarrett previously represented two men in federal court for violations of their First and Fourth Amendment rights by local police and successfully defeated defendants’ motion for summary judgment on qualified immunity and subsequent appeal to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Jarrett first-chaired five depositions of defendant witnesses.

Education and qualifications

Jarrett holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School and a B.A. in Philosophy and English Literature from Ursinus College, where he graduated magna cum laude with distinguished honors and Phi Beta Kappa.

Jarrett is a member of the New York State Bar and admitted to practice in the Southern District of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
