The cost of owning an electric car is forecast to hit parity with petrol vehicles this year across Europe due to falling manufacturing costs and low annual maintenance costs for electric cars. The investment bank UBS has raised its projections for global electric vehicle sales by 50 percent, predicting that electric vehicles will account for one in three cars sold in Europe by 2025.
